CiteRight LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Citation Companion mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our App.
Citation Companion does not collect any personal information. Specifically:
To enforce the free trial limit (3 free citations per device), the App stores an anonymous device identifier and a count of citations created. This information is stored in Google Firebase Firestore. It contains no personal information, cannot be used to identify you, and is used solely to determine whether the free trial limit has been reached. It is never used for advertising, analytics, or any other purpose, and is never shared with third parties.
The App offers a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks unlimited citations and Word export. All payments are processed by Google Play. We never receive or store your payment information (such as credit card numbers). Purchase status is managed by Google Play and associated with your Google account, which allows your purchase to be restored if you reinstall the App or switch devices.
Citation history you save within the App is stored locally on your device only using your device's built-in storage. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party. You can delete this data at any time through the App's Settings page.
The App connects to Google Firebase Firestore to retrieve citation templates and reference types, and to store the anonymous free trial counter described above. No personal information is transmitted or stored during this process.
If you choose to contact us through our website at citerightllc.com, any information you voluntarily provide (name, email, message) is used only to respond to your inquiry. We do not sell or share this information.
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
